About me

Introduction	Art and music have always been my safe-havens. After listening to music, I would research the artists. That led me to be fascinated by album cover art. Many of my earliest works can be directly linked to an album cover I was particularly fond of, but as I have become more mature and free-thinking, I have turned to making covers for the different volumes of my life. I am also inspired by the music I listen to, the bold colors and contrasts of pop art, the intricate designs of the OBEY campaign, the funky style of downtown Bellingham, and fashion. I started off working in graphite. However, once I discovered using pen and ink, my infatuation with crisp lines, line shading, and orderly color arrangements began. I am very exacting, so this media allowed me to express this trait. To begin my Roy Lichtenstein series, I took the bold style of my pen and ink drawings to boards with primary-colored acrylic paints. Primary colors have become somewhat of an obsession of mine because of their fresh simplicity and electric vibe. To me, art is empowering. To me, art is a way to stand out silently. To me, art is how you express your identity. To me, art is a vivid reality. To me, art is life.
