| Introduction | I was born in Cleveland, Ohio and was raised in Parma, a suburb first made locally famous for being mocked by Ghoulardi, a beloved television personality. I saw the Beatles at Cleveland's Public Auditorium on September 15, 1964, and still have the ticket stub. The day after Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated, my sister and I cut school to go downtown to a service in his honor cum Bobby Kennedy campaign rally, and saw Bobby waving from the window of the Sheraton on Public Square. I learned how to make pysanky well enough to impress my skeptical Ukrainian grandmother, then stopped. In my hippie-ish youth I lived in a tent for a year, then, a few weeks after obtaining my driver's license, embarked on a solo odyssey across the country in a '69 Dodge van named Bozo. I have worked as a nurse, artists' model, actor, voiceover artist, and sculptor. Currently I live and work in Washington DC. |
