| Introduction | Hannah is a beautiful, fun loving ten year old girl, who in so many ways, is her mother's hero! She never ceases to amaze me with her strength and courage. She has been diagnosed with intractible epilepsy (which means she is resistant to anti seizure medications). We are continuing to search for something that will reduce her seizures. Currently doctors are determining if a vagus nerve stimulator would be of help to Hannah. She also has hypertension, which is currently controlled with medication. Hannah has also been diagnosed with alveolar hypoventilation syndrome; a sleep disorder in which she has too much carbon dioxide in her body while she sleeps. She wears a BI-PAP to help her give her a better quality sleep. We continue to work with genetics to see if she has an underlying syndrome. So far, the doctors have not been able to find anything...
