| Introduction | Being born in Houston, the nightly petrochemical fumes mutated my young brain into believing in super heroes and expecting all science fiction to come true. I even thought I might become a super hero some day, which of course led to becoming a Boy Scout. Though I lived right next to an air force base where the astronauts flew training planes, I learned that only with high grades could I expect to fly with those astronauts. Friends taught me alternate methods of flying and introduced me to people who built computers from little kits. I soon started building PCs with eyes closed, diagnosing and healing diseased systems with but a touch of my hand, and rattling code off the top of my head that others seemed to take weeks to produce. I became WatcherJohn. |
