| Introduction | Brian Howard started his broadcast career at a low-power AM station at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. He continued to work in radio and television as a student at Southern Utah University where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He took his first full-time job in television as a reporter/anchor at KPVI-TV in Pocatello, Idaho. After several years there he left to work on a master’s degree at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. At BYU he worked as an assignment editor for the university’s student-run integrated television, radio, newspaper, and internet newsroom. He also worked as a producer and video editor at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, and as a producer and director at KBYU Television. Howard earned his Ph.D. in Education from the University of Idaho in 2010. He is currently the Chair of the Communication Department at BYU-Idaho where he teaches video journalism, video editing and mass media courses. He is the host and executive producer of Latter-day Profiles a television talk show that features noteworthy members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. |
