Introduction Brian Floyd, CEC, CCE, MA named the 2006 Chef of the Year by the WV Chapter of the American Culinary Federation. Floyd is a graduate of Marshall University (MA Leadership Higher Ed.), and West Virginia University (B.S. in Business Administration emphasis in HR Management). Chef Floyd is also a graduate of The Greenbrier Culinary Apprenticeship program. Upon graduation, he worked with the internationally acclaimed LaVarenne Cooking School. From the Greenbrier, Chef Floyd became the Manager and Executive Chef of the Fairmont Field Club. In 1999, Floyd opened: Creative Gourmet and Simply Elegant Sculptured Ice. Creative Gourmet, of Fairmont, WV, featured full service catering, and with Simply Elegant Sculptured Ice Chef Floyd transforms blocks of ice into stunning sculptures. Chef Brian Floyd is now the Coordinator for the ACFFAC nationally accredited Culinary Arts and Pastry & Baking Arts programs at Pierpont Community & Technical College, and Certified Executive Chef through the American Culinary Federation. Chef Floyd is a board member of the WVHTA Education Foundation, and a member of National Ice Carving Association and National Restaurant Association.
