| Introduction | As a photographer, I find silent stillness in nature and uniqueness in human endeavour, but I occasionally capture unexpected humour. My great joy in this art form is the process of photographing. I look for an instant of perfect beauty – colour or shape – that no one else has seen, or that will never be again. Three generations ago, my great grandfather left Montreal to work as a lumberjack in the Adirondack Mountains. I have come to Chelsea to find the smells and sounds of our forests, and to be near flowing waters and peaceful nights. But I am also drawn to discover other landscapes and human habitation: I am lucky enough to have taken photographs in more than twenty countries. |
