| Favorite movies | Not a huge movie fan - favourites are The Last Waltz (as in the Scorcese film, not the J Lo crap), Festival Express, Standing in the Shadows of Motown, Almost Famous, A Home at the End of the World, Life as a House, Shawshank Redemption, Ocean's 11, Steel Magnolias and for a laugh - The Wedding Singer. My most recent faves are Wake and Particles of Truth - 2 truly phenomenal films. |
| Favorite music | My early life was informed by James Swearingen, J P Sousa and Carl Orff. Music that has changed my life: James Taylor made me fall in love with music in the first place. Queen defined my early musical tastes. Metallica changed what I listen to forever. Broken Social Scene will be the defining music of my life. OK, so I love all GOOD music - regardless of genre or artist. My absolute addiction is the genius that is Broken Social Scene (and the whole extended family: Feist, AoH, Years, The Stills, The Constantines, Bahamas, Metric, Reg, The Do Makes, Stars, Jason Collett . . .). My taste is very diverse, I'm into everything from James Taylor to System of a Down. Some favourites are Queen, Colin Stetson, Live, The Band, Metallica, Trevor Hall(check him out), Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam, and of course Bob Marley. |
| Favorite books | Grown up books: Hamlet, Tristan & Iseault, Great Expectations, The Show I'll Never Forget, The Angel Riots, anything by Chuck Klosterman (it's quite possible the man lives in my brain) and for biggest laughs in the entire universe - The Dirt (shockingly well written). Kids books: Goodnight Moon, Alligator Pie, Mrs. McNosh Hangs Up Her Wash, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus - funny as hell, read it after a few drinks - even funnier. I personally feel that these children's books are on equal footing with any 'grown up' book - I dare anyone to prove otherwise. |
