| Introduction | I am an Associate Professor at Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources Born and raised in Lecheng Village, located in the splendid Hills of Tswapong in Eastern Botswana. Ke mokwena Morwa Obopile-a- Difhemo-a- Ntshobo. WHY INSECTA DOC? Insecta is the name given to the group (class) of arthropods that are six legged, with two pairs of legs on each side of the body. Their bodies are divided into three regions-head, thorax and abdomen. Arthropod refers to joint-legged animals that include myriapods (millipedes, centipedes and their relatives), chelicerates (spiders, scorpions, ticks horseshoe crabs), crustaceans (crabs, shrimps and relatives) and hexapods (six legged arthropods –insects and their relatives). |
