Introduction	Living in Baja, literally perched over an estuary is a bird lovers dream. With hawks flying by our deck at eye level, osprey perched in trees in the hacienda below or fishing in the river, harrier hawks hovering over the field, egrets, ibis, stilts fishing on the banks and now in fall the ducks have descended-how could I not be?! An afternoon walk down to the river has yet to disappoint. There’s always someone new in town or a shy resident out to taunt me with a brief appearance.
