Interests	I love to learn and practice new skills. Writing well is a skill that I greatly admire. Through encouragement by others and my own motivation, I have chosen to submit articles for various DIY projects I have completed or am presently engaged. Effective instructional content must be clear, concise, and comprehensive in scope; but let's not forget it should be fun to read! It is the least I could offer to anyone who grants me the time to review my work. My "real" profession is as a board certified optician. My real passions are numerous and varied. I quilt, sew window treatments, woodwork, read, garden, cook, leather work, repair and collect mechanical clocks/wristwatches, home repair, etc. Creating a tangible item from an idea or a plan brings me great satisfaction. I am currently associated with local antique stores and am contracted to repair, refinish, and restore their vintage pieces. What luck1 I get to incorporate my various skills into a single project.
