About me

Introduction The "shpitzle" is a religious headgear that is worn by the Chasidic Jewish woman. It is made primarily of a kerchief, foam and synthetic linings fitted between a folded silk scarf that's tied over the woman's shaved head. Shpitzle is also an apt, and appropriately unsightly, pen name. I'm Shpitzle [sigh] - it's my pseudonym and it's what identifies me as a chasidic woman in real life. Here I write, scribble and pun about our life, straight from the "cave" of my Chasidic abode. Make yourself at home!
