| Introduction | I'm no Dorothy, but I am proud of my Kansas roots. I grew up on the wide open plains under some of the most gorgeous skies and long-lasting sunsets you can imagine. I love the way cottonwood leaves shine in the summer sun, the vibrant fall colors under a big blue sky, the muffled sound of the breeze playing through cedars on a wintery day, and watching a spring thunderstorm move across the plains. I am a graphic designer by trade, and a homemaker at heart. I believe homemaking is an art. From crafting and repurposing items for decorating and organizing in the house to cooking healthy, tasteful and pretty meals, to planning and maintaining a garden, homemaking is a beautiful outlet for individual creativity and artistic skills. This blog started simply as an outlet for my ponderings when I was younger. Since my marriage in December 2012, and my debut into homemaking, I have many new lessons of life to learn. This blog is a place where I will be sharing some of my adventures as I try to make my home a truly homey place. And much like my real home on the range, I want this blog to feel homey, to be a comfortable place for visitors to unwind, get encouraged, and be inspired. |
