Introduction	First and foremost, I am a human being. But I am also a gay man who is a Christian. I have struggled long and hard to come into a place of self-acceptance and believe that my journey is far from over. For more than 20 years, I have served in many capacities with secular and religious organizations by developing, implementing and managing programs and by directly meeting the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of at-risk youth, families and adults of varying ages, capacities and backgrounds. But I have also explored my passions through volunteer service with many organizations. People might describe me as deeply passionate and compassionate, especially toward those less fortunate than I. Matters that deeply move me include philosophies of living, spirituality, psychology, history, politics, the arts and most any of the "deeper" issues of life. Yet I have a light side and am told that I have a good sense of humor. I believe life is a gift and is what we choose to make of it. Each day I try to keep in mind that there are no guarantees about tomorrow. With that in mind, I strive to make the most of each day by doing things that are both meaningful and enjoyable.

Favorite movies	I tend to like older classics and art/foreign films, but enjoy almost anything that is not too bleak or gory.
Favorite music	I especially enjoy classical, jazz, world, ethnic, classic rock, 1980s rock and alternative, as well as much current music.
Favorite books	fantasy/mythology, spy novels and thrillers, spirituality/religion, theology, philosophy, biography, political science and history.
