| Introduction | This all started with a journal/planner as a way to show case my cousin's photos, then it just grew to its present state. His photos were of the flora and fauna, animals and other scenes in Lithuania and seemed right for the monthly photos of the planner. These books came about as I realized the cute squirrels were an endangered species (Eurasian Red Squirrel) and should be highlighted in a way children can relate to. Most books seemed too scientific, I wanted personality and relatable stories.." From there things grew and expanded to the Marcijona personality and Kekstas. (I know Kekstas means jay but it fits.) Marci is my grandmother and seemed right for the stories. Marci is in Vilnius and Granny never got to go back. Growing up I didn't know much about this side of the family, so this is an homage to them and the country. The Books dedicated to IT and the other rescues are part of our life. They add joy. |
