Favorite Music	all iterations of rock, but especially first generation classic, first wave alternative, and contemporary independent. The Kinks to Vampire Weekend. Ya still followin'?
Favorite Books	I read too much nonfiction. The first fiction I loved as a child were Conan Doyle's complete Sherlock Holmes. Most recently, I surprised myself by sucking down and thoroughly enjoying Liz Gilbert's "Eat Pray Love". There's a dog earred copy of Kafka's Metamorphosis hanging out in my glove compartment, to leaf through when I'm stuck in traffic.

What is most troubling about our times--that we're going to hell in a handbasket, or that we probably won't get to enjoy the ride?
