Introduction	I was a former journalist and lawyer who set out with her husband and son for an exapt adventure in the Middle East only to discover that my son has a rare genetic disorder and allergic disease called eosinophilic esophagitis. He was also recently diagnosed with juvenile arthritis. I gave up my career to help my son battle his chronic diseases on a full time basis.
