| Introduction | I hold both a Master of Fine Arts degree in Fiction writing from the University of Alaska in Anchorage and a BA in English from Duke University. I have taught high school English for 3 years and spent one year working as a private tutor. I was a staff member of the University of Alaska Writing Center and an instructor for the course Introduction to College Writing. I think writing college essays can be an experience through which students can learn as much about themselves as the admissions committee eventually will. |
