Introduction | I was born and raised in the St. Louis area. I have three kids that I really like a lot. (I say that because not all people actually like their kids.) I began writing as a child (very dramatic poetry) then moved on to screenplays in my early twenties (all very bad) and finally on to mystery novels. My tenth book comes out from St. Martin's press in March of 2007. I belong to a local critique group with other St. Louis writers: Tom Drennan, Laurell K. Hamilton, Deborah Millitello, Marella Sands, Sharon Shinn and Mark Sumner. |
Interests | Genealogy, quilting, scrapbooking, gardening, writing, reading, and all of my kids extracurricular activities. |
Favorite movies | Oh wow. This list could go on forever: These are just a few . . . A Room With a View, Fifth Element, Harry Potter series, anything with Jackie Chan, A Knight's Tale, Hero, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Iron Giant, Pirates of the Carribean, Chocolat, Prancer, Desperado, I have to stop here. The list goes on and on. I watch a lot of British television on DVD, as well as what American television that I watch, namely because I can never catch the same timeslot every week to watch television. And I don't have cable. :-) |
Favorite music | Tom Waits, Sinead O'Connor, Dave Matthews, Gaelic Storm, White Stripes, Indigenous, Gillian Welch, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, The Chieftains, Hank Williams III, B.B. King, Stevie Rae Vaughn, Shooter Jennings, The Bottle Rockets, John Mellencamp, Sheryl Crow, (old stuff like James Cotton, Little Walter, Willie Dixon etc.), Brian Setzer, Johnny Cash. Again, I have to stop because I could just keep going. I also like bluegrass in general, classical in general (Mozart, Copeland and the likes)and African tribal music in addition to all of the blues and New Orleans cajun music. |
Favorite books | Fried Green Tomatoes is my all time favorite book. A Northern Light, Rule of Four, The 13th Tale. Instead of listing books, I'm going to list authors: Emma Bull, Charlaine Harris, Michael Connelly, Holly Black, Juliette Marillier, Umberto Eco, William Kent Krueger, Stephen King, Cornelia Funke, Barbara Kingsolver, Charles deLint etc. I like a lot of non-fiction books, too, in particular history and anthropology. |
All of the phone numbers have fallen out of your address book. Whose number do you look for first and why?
The number I look for first, would be whomever I was trying to call.
