| Introduction | I am currently aged 52 and single. I work as the editor of The Rider’s Digest, a monthly motorcycle magazine — and as I publish it in co-operation with a like minded friend I have known for over 25 years, I feel like I have finally got away from the clowns. I am a great admirer of Noam Chomsky and consequently am deeply suspicious of the power of the media and its ability to “Manufacture Consent”. I also believe that there should be ‘no power without accountability’ and therefore am acutely aware of the responsibility that rests on my shoulders. It would appear that I am better at parenthood than I am at partnerships, because in spite of a couple of unsuccessful relationships, I have four delightful children aged between 11 and 23. |
