Introduction | I am a 29-year-old birder from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and completed a Bachelor's degree in Zoology and Physics at the University of Guelph. I'm currently completing a Master's degree in Biology at Acadia University in Nova Scotia. I've been interested in nature, especially birds, all my life. Since about 2005, I've become much more involved in the birding aspect, going on trips specifically to see and photograph birds, instead of just hoping for whatever came along while on family trips, as well as leading a few tours locally. I'm always looking forward to my next trip when money (and time) will allow, right now I'm on a bit of a Latin America kick! I got my first camera, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 in November 2006, and have been hooked on photography ever since. In March 2010, I bought a used Nikon D2Xs, and the Nikon 70-300 VR and 18-55 VR to go with it. I upgraded to a Nikon D7000 in January 2015 as it is a bit more lightweight and easier to travel with, but after this and the lens took a nasty fall off a car roof (long story), I now shoot with a Nikon D7500 and a 300mm f/4 AF-S. |
