| Introduction | I began my journey of learning about wine in 1995 when my Dr. suggested I eat a healthier diet, and part of that change was substituting a glass of red wine for a beer with my dinner. As I tried different wines, I wanted to understand why I liked some and not others. So I started reading books at the library, and eventually bought books of my own. I started writing down my thoughts in a wine log, and created a catalog of impressions to look back on as I need to. Over the course of 20+ years tasting wines from around the world, I have realized that this is a lifelong journey of learning. Each vintage is unique, and the new wave of winemakers are not afraid to try new techniques to create interesting wines.
