Introduction Dr. Tedd Roberts, better known as "Speaker to Lab Animals", is a professional research scientist and writer. He teaches Medical and Graduate students and publishes in the fields of memory, drug abuse, brain information processing and Neural Prosthetics. "Speaker" was the typical scientific "slacker" starting with Eagle Scout at age 14, college at 16 and formal training in 14 scientific fields (including life and physical sciences, mathematics and engineering) by age 28. As a Boy Scout leader, he instructed shooting sports, first aid, disaster preparedness, carpentry, electricity and plumbing – i.e. "the kitchen sink." In the (little) free time remaining, he reads military & adventure Science Fiction as well as Space Opera, writes SF, collects "curio and relic" firearms, travels, edits photos and video, does home and car repairs, talks incessantly about Single Malt Scotch, and plays First Trombone in a Brass Octet. Dr. Tedd is committed to making science available to and understandable by the public via his blog: “Teddy’s Rat Lab.”
