| Introduction | I am Ashton Davison, 22 years of age and will soon be graduating from the Batley School of Art and Design, in West Yorkshire. The work examines ‘journey’ as a sensory, visual and changing state. The idea that we constantly experience some kind of journey in both our conscious and subconscious states is fundamental to the work. Stemming from a fascination with how human beings move through space-time, how we aspire to awaken from the individual body/mind organism and how everything arises out of pure conscious awareness. The work also transforms these two dimensional images into a three dimensional film, by merging separate layers to create a sense of movement and direction. This changing of states of still images through process, is influenced by an interest in quantum theories on the totality of space-time and its appearance in consciousness. |
