Introduction	I go by Sere ("Sarah") owing to the fact that I'm such a dutz that I picked an otherwise unpronounceable first name when I started in Second Life. By day I'm a faculty member at a pretty stuffy research university and do research on how technology can be used to help students learn better. I've been doing this work long enough to have gotten jaded by the shortcomings of previous generations of educational technology tools. Nevertheless, I've got a theory about how technology can be used to best educational advantage. So I'm stepping out bravely into the newest frontier of educational technology to see if theory can finally be made into effective practice through virtual worlds.
