Introduction	I sailed a few times in my early 20s but it wasn't until I moved back to California (having moved away with my family when I was a kid) that I actually LEARNED how to sail. I took a two weekend "basic keelboat" class and I was hooked. I went to a local yacht club for weeknight beercan races. There I met my husband and we have been boating together ever since. If you had asked me when I was first learning to sail if I would one day be Commodore of a Yacht Club or sail to Hawaii I probably would have laughed at the idea. I'm proud I made it through my Commodore year (2009) and sailed in the Pacific Cup in 2010! Now we have a trawler that we cruise in the San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento and San Joaquin River Deltas.
