Introduction To look and not see is a common affliction. To slow down and find the beauty in our everyday surroundings, the spectacular within the mundane, is the purpose of this collection. “I shoot things that I think other people should see, but never do. I love showing prints to my friends and hearing them say 'Where is this?' when it's simple as the sidewalk in front of their house.” Taking photos was, at first, research and documentation for his paintings, until Todd realized that that he wanted people to slow down and see what he saw through his lens. Soon shooting photographs became as much of a compulsion as painting and sculpting. Todd influences the audience through his photos, he takes them to a place where there are no interruptions, no cell phones, no lattes, and forces them to slow down and see the world through his eyes. -Sarah Thien, Santa Maria Sun
