Introduction I moved from the 'burbs of Atlanta to the North Georgia mountains because when I was a kid I thought the Appalachians were Heaven on Earth. They still are and my life is centered around what they have to give. Both their beautiful views and what I can extract out of them. Besides my own efforts at home to move back to a more connected way of acquiring certain foods and goods, I also make a living off of tourism in the area. I work as a Manager of an outdoor retailer along the Appalachian Trail call Mountain Crossings and as a Raft Guide on the Ocoee River in Tennessee. I love to use these job as a way to connect people to the outdoors and hopefully inspire them to keep coming back and loving these places, fighting for their preservation and protection. I love to travel, by car, foot and raft. I have thru hiked the Appalachian Trail, run the Grand Canyon on a 25 day trip and an always ready to sleep in the back of a car for a few weeks. This blog features thoughts, feelings, misadventures and projects that have to do with a millennial who turned their back on the city and moved to the mountains.
