| Introduction | I wanted to try and compare myself to a particular single malt but then I realised that that would be far too pretentious! Although maybe it would be in keeping with the behaviour of a budding English professor, someone who can usually be forgiven such eccentricities. I'll return to that one. And now I have returned generally! Great news, for this means that A Levels have been worried about, faced down, and partially recovered from with the help of friends and beer, and I am truly at liberty to immerse myself (wouldn't such a thing be fantastic under fully literal circumstances?) in this wonderful spirit. Much like Dr. Whisky in one of his June posts, I'm keen to up the frequency of my own contributions to the "whisky gospel", but before I can do that with the drams I promised recently, I need to get my olfactory senses back up to speed. Therefore I'm devising a training regime at present, perhaps beginning with the Tormore 12YO, then the Glencadam 15YO, Auchentoshan 3Wood, Balvenie DoubleWood, Ardbeg Uigeadail and possibly finish with the Glenmorangie LaSanta before completing my tasting note for the Glenmorangie Original. All in the interests of good form, you understand... |
