| Introduction | Stole & Frogs is the alter ego of a UU minister serving a Massachusetts congregation. The "stole" is a symbol of ordination and the call to ministry. The "frogs" - the ornamental red braided loops, which decorate some of our academic robes - are a sign of preparation for the so-called "learned ministry." Of course, even more interesting than that, frogs are also an age-old, cross-cultural symbol of transformation and new life. Stole & Frogs, then, is inspired by two of the calls that echo through each of our lives - the call to be transformed and the call to transform the world in which we live. |
