| Introduction | I turned my obsession/passion for food as a hobby into a career when Fallon & Byrne opened in Dublin City Centre in 2006. With the option of using my degree or starting afresh in the service industry, I took my chances with the latter! I started working on the cheese counter and engrossed myself in cheese and the nerdiness that surrounds it. This risk has worked, and worked well. It has taken me down a path which allows me indulge myself in food in both my career and personal life 24 hours a day - and I love it. I now work for Carluccio's Caffe on Dawson St., which has imprinted what I expect to an ever-lasting love of Italy and its food, wine and culture. The idea for the blog stemmed from a recipe book that my sister and myself produced, wrote and had printed as a family Christmas present a few years ago. It was such a hit with the nearest and dearest, I decided to apply that energy here in blog (with no small amount of sisterly encouragement). Thanks sis. |
