Introduction | Spent the last 3 years trying to perfect my books and everytime I look at them, I spy more flaws. So I guess I'm on a hiding to nothing. But hopefully having an 'MA' after my name might get my brain in gear and impel me to write that elusive best seller. |
Interests | Writing (fiction and poetry) singing, watching films, walking, dancing, music, chatting & gossiping, eavesdropping, eating and drinking, sunbathing, sitting around, occasionally tidying up, car boot sales. I'd like to say I'm not shallow and materialistic, but I do have a penchant for shoes. |
Favorite movies | What's eating Gilbert Grape, Amelie, The Full Monty, Harold and Maud, Thelma and Louise, scary thrillers. Oh yes, Festen (great Danish film, and 'Together' (great Swedish film.OH and for a good old weep 'Remember Me'. Boohooooooo |
Favorite music | Yes Sir Boss, Tom Waits, Rufus Wainwright, Cold Play, Kate Rusby, Manu Chau, Fat Freddy's Drop, Bon Iver, Beirut, Mumford & Sons, The Leisure Society & any rousing classical piece, like the 'best of' opera bits, anything that makes me cry. |
Favorite books | Where to begin? At the moment, Room by Emma Donahue - how does she do it? 'The Earth Sings in B Flat (brilliant); American Wife (riveting); The Time Traveller's Wife' (so very sad!), anything by Rose Tremain, Rumer Godden, Graham Green, James Baldwin, The HIstory of Insects, The SEcret Life of Bees, Brick Lane, The Poisonwood Bible, Nancy Mitford (anything) |
