Interests CHAIRMAN OF DEVO UTHAN SEWA SAMITI : Shri Devo Uthan Sewa Samiti, started in the year of 2003, is a group of people who have devoted themselves for a sacred mission – the Mission to provide “MUKTI” to the soul of the unidentifiable deceased who’s “Asthi” or “Ashes” lie unclaimed in the store of cremation grounds in and around NCR. According to our ancient Vedas, the “Asthi” or the ashes after cremating the dead must be immersed in the Holy River, the Ganges, for the deliverance of souls from sins. Only when the remains are immersed into the river, the soul of the deceased rests in peace for eternity. The samiti organizes ‘ASTHI KALASH YATRA’ under the leadership of Sh. Anil Narendra every year in the month of September in PITRA PAKSHA’ to take these unclaimed Asthis for Performance of the last rites of immersion at Haridwar (Kankhal Ghat). In the past 8 years over 89000 such unclaimed Asthis have been immersed by the Samiti In Haridwar. The samiti was successful in getting 135 unclaimed ashes of Hindus settled in Karachi, Pakistan and disburse them with full vedic rites in the sacred Ganges very recently. We achieved a major breakthrough in breaking the ice between Governments of India and Pakistan and was recognized widely by the media as a major step of mutual friendship between the two countries.
