| Introduction | As a teacher of students on the Autism Spectrum I never have to experience the same day twice - every day is as unique as the students themselves. I have the privilege, and yes sometimes challenge of teaching students in the Autism program at my school. I started the program almost 3 years ago with one student and two staff. Currently the program has four students and five staff. All of the students have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, they are all non-verbal, all have the potential to display extremely aggressive behaviors and in my opinion are some of the best students a teacher could ever ask for. I enjoy watching them learn something new every day and in turn I learn something from them every day. |
