Introduction Dr. Rachelle Shaw started her practice in Albuquerque in 1982. She graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in mathematics, then attended Indiana University School of Dentistry for four years, receiving her doctorate. Dr. Shaw completed a two-year specialty residency in pediatric dentistry at the Children’s Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio and received her certificate in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Shaw is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the Albuquerque District Dental Society, and other dental and service organizations. Dr. Shaw is a member of the staff at Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Shaw has lectured at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and Presbyterian Hospital. She gave her presentation “Pediatric Dentistry: Sometimes It’s Like Pulling Teeth” at the 2008 Presbyterian Pediatric Update Conference and Presbyterian’s Grand Rounds. She attends the AAPD national convention annually where she learns the latest pediatric dentistry techniques. She also reads several dental journals to stay current.
Interests Many charitable projects benefit from Dr. Shaw's contributions, including children’s educational television programming, the New Mexico Ballet Company, schools, the JCC, the Turrets Society, the New Mexico Symphony, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Autistic Children’s Society, Fusion Theatre Company, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Albuquerque. Dr. Shaw has done volunteer dentistry in Israel several times.
