| Introduction | As a kid, I lived in Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, Minnesota and New Hampshire. Potlucks were my consistent contact with what I called 'American food', having eaten pretty much exclusively Chinese food at home - prepared by my mother who is a white lady from New Jersey, no less. (Potlucks and school lunch, though I hesitate to call much of that food.) At any rate, eating and observing culture are coterminus in my life, and this blog is an expression of that symbiosis. |
