About me

Location Berks County, Pennsylvania
Introduction I am fascinated and rewarded by the study of woodworking and Windsor chairs in particular. This supports the work I do making saw dust and shavings, always my goal and I have never failed. I enjoy working with hand tools and building the chairs using the "Old Guys" techniques. Results are more important than speed and creating a handmade peice that will become tomorrow's heirloom is very gratifying. All this creativity links me to my other interest 18th century history. I enjoy learning more about the Philadelphia region where so many significant historical events occurred. I have been a life-long learner and these activities and efforts support that need. People often think that most things that are worth while have already been discovered; but that's not true. In the case of the 18th century which is quite well documented, much low hanging fruit still exists waitng to be discovered. Professional historians have generally only scraped the surface since they live with pressures requiring them to publish and publish often. An amateur is one who loves a particular persuit and goes about the work in that spirit. This has been and continues to be the best of times.
