| Introduction | I spent ten years writing about alternative music and Gen X culture beginning in 1991. I have interviewed and photographed some of the best and least known artists in alternative rock. After "retiring" from music journalism I earned a BA in History from The College of William & Mary and a degree in Fine Art. I also studied at the University of Costa Rica. Writing and music are my co-equal passions. In addition to the non-fiction book, Living Under Stars which tells the story of the underground music scene where I got my start writing, I also write various types of fiction. |

| Favorite Movies | I like many movies but have a very hard time picking favorites. |
| Favorite Music | A lot of indie bands, rock bands that are fresh and original, also some early rock, bluegrass, jazz, soul, funk, I'm crrently listening to a bunch of alternative bands, all time favorites include NIN, Jane's Addiction, Primus, Weezer, Sonic Youth, The Ramones, Henry Rollins, and others. |
| Favorite Books | I own a couple thousand books and still buy new ones constantly, my favorite is the one that is well written and fits my current mood. |
