Introduction holds degrees in Religion and Society from Eastern Nazarene College, Andover Newton Theological School, and Boston College. He was named director of the University of Bridgeport's Program in World Religions in 1998. His research and publications have focused on religion and human rights, globalization in religion, religion and conflict, and religion in the post-9/11 era. His major teaching and research methods draw upon the social sciences to undertake comparative analysis of religions and study the public significance of religious belief and practice. Healey also has published works of fiction and poetry. He is the University's interim president.
