| Introduction | The first thing you'll notice about my writing is it's feely. It's not going to grab your arm but, if I did it right, the tightness in your stomach will lessen and at least one corner of your mouth will start to turn toward the sky. See? It's happening to you right now. The truth is, the calming and the smiling? It also happens to me. When I write I can see my mother's brown eyes and I can hear my niece's giggles. I can feel the wind on my face as I take photos of the city from over head, even though I've never been on a helicopter. I can jump at the slightest sounds of the wind outside, even though I've never experienced a tree falling in a storm. |
