| Introduction | Retired biomedical researcher (consultant clinical scientist) in Scottish Blood Transfusion Service (NHS) and honorary senior lecturer in Edinburgh University - (immunology, CJD, etc and latterly autologous stem cells). A Shetlander born and bred, living in Midlothian but maintaining strong links with Shetland (and retaining the family house there). I like to paint (and sell some - finishing school I was accepted to both Art College and University and decided on University); enjoy photography and video; sailing; countryside and nature - including gardening; play a few stringed and wind (chanter, whistle) instruments; like trad folk, blues, jazz, swing and a bit of most things melodic; travel, cultures and different folks; gadgets, computers and programming ; DIY (sometimes) - will tackle most things if I have the tools - not anticipating being bored in retirement - where does the time go? |
