| Introduction | In the simplest and broadest terms manufacturers are the millions of people across the nation and here in Utah who make things. They take raw materials from the ground that have either been mined or grown and fashion them into useful products (things) for each of us. The Utah Manufacturers Association represents those important people in Utah and has been the “Voice of Industry” since 1905. We invite you to take a look around you and see if you can identify anything in your surroundings or on your person that was not manufactured. We think you will find that without manufacturing, this would be a very bleak world. Manufacturing is one of only three industries that create wealth. The other two, mining and agriculture, provide the raw materials for manufacturers, the people who make things. |
