Introduction Hello and welcome, My name is Bo
I started out using 24X36 b/w films as an amateur back in the late 70´/early 80´s, Plus-X, Tri-X and Ilford HP5 and soon wanted to learn the zone system to gain some control over my negatives and prints.
I learned the darkroom techniques the hard way by reading tons of books, using the Paterson system with the dreadful plastic reels and a used Durst M605, printing primarily by trial and error.
As the years passed I started working for several photographers as an assistant and darkroom-slave, gaining loads of valuable experience until I finally took the big jump in the late 80´s and became a pro.
Well, I grew out of that eventually.. I quit the pro career in 2001 and went back to shooting artistically for passion.
With Caffenol I have found a near perfect developer: It´s fun, cheap, easy to mix, environmentally safe, has an extreme contrast range, fine grain and a wonderful stain.
The camera I use is a 1956 Linhof Technika IV 4X5 with a Rodenstock Sironar N 150-f5.6. I use both 4X5 and 120 films in a Super Rollex and favor the slowest film from ISO 25 to a max of 200.
