Introduction The Boresight began life as a post-graduate research vehicle to explore new ideas and to look at the subject matter with a fresh perspective. Its secondary purpose was to challenge conventional wisdom. I began formulating many of my hypotheses during the run-up to the 2003 Iraq Invasion, and then Abu Ghraib. I worked as an engineer at the Intel Corporation for some 14 years after working in Durban, South Africa in embedded-control software design. I received my bachelor's degree in Political Science and History from the University of California, Davis in 2019. I wish to thank the authors/publishers of all reference material which continues to prove essential and aviation author/historian Tom Cooper, who helped me fill in some of the blanks and graciously made some very important obscure historical photographs available. Also to professor emeritus Andrew J. Bacevich; professor of history and international relations at Boston University for taking the time to leave his comment. Thank You, Professor!
