You can whistle and steam can whistle, so why do you sing in the shower?
It's weird, but I can only whistle when it's SILENT. In the shower, there is way too much ambient noise for me to be able to whistle, so if I wish to make a joyful noise in the shower, I must sing. Or scream. Or yell at the cat.
