| Interests | About 16% of the U.S. population, 31 million American adults, have chronic kidney disease (CKD), and most of them don’t know it. Another 20 million Americans are at increased risk for the disease. With most people, there are no symptoms of CKD until the disease reaches an advanced stage. If CKD is left undetected, it can progress to kidney failure with little or no warning, making this disease a “silent epidemic”. |
