| Introduction | I have a lovely life. I keep my hens, ducks and turkeys in my back garden and my toothsome terrier in the front garden. I grow veg in a hen-proof patch. Collecting the eggs and veg is a delight, a moment of pleasure. Life is full of those moments. I used to be a school inspector, a pariah if you like, now I'm just another villager. Maybe my neighbours think I'm a bit eccentric, but life's friendly and I enjoy it. My other interests are wandering round the countryside taking a look at nature and the view, reading gentle fiction, making cakes, and the most time consuming, trying to write fiction. The fact that I put this last is that although I spend ALL my spare time writing, I'm unpublished. I have high hopes for my current book though, a contemporary comedy of love and manners set in Norfolk. |
