| Introduction | Kathy Fischer began her professional writing career as a copywriter, stringing words together in catchy ways for advertising agencies and design firms in San Francisco and New York City. Turning her sights to the entertainment industry, she earned an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA and, while there, became the first recipient of the prestigious David and Lynn Angell Humanitas Award for Television Comedy Writing. After that, doors opened. Kathy worked as a staff writer on THE GEORGE LOPEZ SHOW, was awarded a freelance script on ABC Family’s JUST A PHASE and worked as a consulting producer on the show WHATEVER, MARTHA! Most recently, Kathy was chosen as a WGA Writer Access Project Honoree for her television writing. She’s also penned comedy features for Walt Disney Pictures and various Independent production companies. Kathy is currently producing and directing a short film entitled THE LOVESEAT. |
