Introduction We began planning our 2nd career as full-time cruisers in 2002, the year our youngest child left for college. In 2009, we sold our house and bought our next home - "Maja", a Bayfield40 Cutter-Ketch sailboat. In January 2010, we retired and moved aboard s/v Maja in Brunswick, GA, and officially became full-time cruisers. We spent 2010 sailing up the East Coast to Baltimore MD, many miles of it on the ICW. In 2011, we made our first crossing to the Bahamas in February, finding the islands a great place to stay well into June. In 2012, we made our 2nd crossing to the Bahamas in January and ventured as far south as the Ragged Islands, returning to Savannah for our daughter’s wedding in May. In 2013,we made our 3rd crossing to the Bahamas in December, our earliest arrival but also the start of our “season of boat breakdowns”. For the 2014 season, we put s/v Maja on the hard in Green Cove Springs Marina and went to Europe for 13 months, thanks to the hospitality of our daughter and son-in-law who live in Germany. Back on the boat after a long break and getting ready for the 2015 season. Always something coming around the corner!
