| Introduction | We are a unique community garden, located in the Powderhorn Park neighborhood, on 34th Street and 15th Avenue. We have a large space set aside for communal gardening, as well as 14 individual plots. Some folks join the garden as gardeners with a plot and many others join as part of the communal garden. There is always room for more communal gardeners. Communal gardening with us is an amazing way to get to know folks around the neighborhood. Communal garden membership is $5. Individual plot folks must also support the communal garden; so their total is $15 per plot. No one is turned away for lack of funds. We have a garden contract that includes important rules about respect for the garden and one another. For the individual plots, first priority goes to gardeners on the block-half the allotments for native English speakers and the other half for native Spanish speakers, as this is representative of our block's population. We also give priority to people off block who speak both Spanish and English, as this is a perennial garden need. |
